About Us.

Mpower. (pronounced “empower period”) is a community-based project located in the diverse city of Cambridge, MA. We partner with health educators, school nurses, teens, and parent groups to engage and support elementary-aged students around menstruation.

Founded by two moms, our mission is to help de-stigmatize periods while empowering and supporting youth as they approach puberty - and beyond. We believe that early interventions can help normalize natural bodily changes and functions, while enhancing community support and providing youth with positive, formative experiences.

If you have ideas, interest, or questions, we’d love to hear from you.

We love our volunteers & partners.

Everything we do is a team effort. From soliciting donations to organizing our events, we continue to benefit from the generosity and enthusiasm of educators, parents, and other supporters near and far.

We are especially grateful to our lead volunteer ambassador, Danielle Card-Howe and contributor & speaker, Dr. Kayla Wheat.

Special thanks to our fiscal sponsor, Friends of Baldwin, a non-profit organization that works to strength the Maria L. Baldwin school community in Cambridge.
